Endurance Ride Information
Endurance riding tests horses and their riders on a course over variable terrain. It is a balance between sustaining speed and maintaining fitness throughout the course.

- For all realistic horse breeds, with a bonus for Arabians & Arabian partbreds
- Encompasses the Heavyweight, Middleweight & Lightweight grades
- Runs January to November, usually 2-3 rides a month
- Awards are issued mid-December – mid-January
- Placings are awarded through a points system for horse breed type/fitness, past performance & a dice roll /table system

End of Year Awards
The End of Year Awards (EoYs) are earned through kilometers ridden.
Endurance Distance Register Awards, Certificates of Merit
Horses and riders may apply as they earn awards or at the end of the season together with their EoY nominations. You do not have to be EoY eligible to apply for this accumulative award.
Horse Award Levels
Rider Award Levels
The Lifetime Distance Award recognizes riders for the accumulated distances that they achieve in endurance rides, regardless of weight division, through their riding career.
A rider must have ridden a single horse per ride per meet for the ride km to count towards this award.
End of Year Awards
The End of Year Awards (EoYs) are earned through kilometers ridden.
- Endurance Long Distance Horse of the Year (overall)
- Lightweight Horse of the year
- Middleweight Horse of the year
- Heavyweight Horse of the year
- Short Distance Horse of the Year (No more than 2 rides at 101km+ and no ride over 120km during the season, regardless of weight class)
- Novice of the Year (all rides completed as a novice, regardless of weight class)
- Senior of the Year (15yo+ horses, regardless of weight class)
- Trainer of the Year
- Breeder of the Year

- Training rides (inc either specifically noted or 50km rides) & vet outs are not counted
- Note that only 80km or over rides are counted for the DRA 300km or 800km
- Horses applying must have only had 10 rides a season
- Vet out KMs do not count towards this award
Horse Award Levels
- 300km - Available to any horse that has successfully completed 300km of affiliated endurance rides of 80km or over in ONE riding division
- 800km - Available to any horse that has successfully completed 800km of affiliated endurance rides of 80km or over in ONE riding division.
- 1600km - In recognition of any horse successfully completing 1600km irrespective of riding division.
- 3000km - In recognition of any horse successfully completing 3000km irrespective of riding division.
- 5000km - In recognition of any horse successfully completing 5000km irrespective of riding division.
- ABRCB Certificates of Merit are awarded at 1,500km thereafter (6,500km, 8,000km, 9,500km etc).
